About Our CEO & Founder
Dr. Amina Abdelaziz
Dr. Amina Abdelaziz is the visionary behind NISAA Advancing Maternal Health Equity. Her journey into public health began with a personal battle against Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP), a rare disease diagnosed in 2016. During her treatment, she faced numerous medical errors and racial biases, which nearly cost her life twice. These experiences ignited her passion for equitable healthcare.
Her commitment to maternal health was further fueled by witnessing her mother, Rebecca, suffer inadequate medical care, leading to her sudden death at 40 from lupus complications.

Rebecca's struggles with systemic healthcare inequities inspired the creation of NISAA in her memory.
Dr. Abdelaziz holds two Ivy League degrees from Columbia University—a master’s in developmental psychology and an Ed.D. in health education. Her academic expertise and personal experiences drive her relentless pursuit of justice and equity in healthcare.
At NISAA, she leads strategic initiatives, policy reforms, and community engagement efforts to ensure every woman receives the care she deserves. Her leadership has made NISAA a beacon of hope, advocating for sustainable healthcare improvements and supporting mothers nationwide.
Dr. Abdelaziz envisions a healthcare system where equity is the cornerstone and maternal health disparities are eradicated.
